Angelou Ezeilo is a seasoned social entrepreneur and advocate for environmental justice, youth empowerment, and inclusive leadership. She is the Founder of the Greening Youth Foundation (GYF), which engages underrepresented youth and young adults in environmental education, conservation, and career pathways across the U.S. and Africa. Through GYF and its Africa arm, she has mobilised thousands of young people to become changemakers in the green economy.
As Co-President of Ashoka Africa, she leads efforts to identify and support social innovators across the continent. Selected as an Ashoka Fellow in 2016, she continues to inspire a generation through her work at the intersection of environment, education, and equity.
She is also the founder of Engage, Connect, Protect LLC, and a published author and public speaker. Angelou holds a J.D. from the University of Florida and a B.A. from Spelman College.

Empowering Diverse Youth as Environmental Leaders
Part critique of the cultural divide in environmentalism, part personal story, part practical toolkit. It makes the case for recognising the environmental leadership already present in communities of colour, and shows businesses, educators and policymakers how to open real learning and career pathways for diverse young people. It includes a curriculum for engaging youth and a directory of organisations to connect with.
